Foot & Ankle Orthosis (Braces)
Pieter M Botha Orthotist & Prosthetist provides a wide range of prefabricated foot and ankle products that can help resolve a wide variety of bio-mechanical problems ? from ankle instability to misalignment of the foot. Products include Walkers, of which the Rebound Air Walker is a circumferential Walker which is easy for you to apply and adjust. Walkers are an alternative to short leg casts applied primarily to treat soft tissue injuries, stable fractures and for use in post-operative therapy.
Several types of foot products are specially designed to care for diabetic patients with foot ulcers. Our ankle foot orthoses incorporate renowned Flex-Foot carbon fibre technology to create strong, lightweight solutions with noticeable energy return. Most of the products are manufactured by ssur.

DH Offloading Walker
Diabetic patients exhibiting neuropathy are prone to developing ulcers on the sole of the foot in areas of moderate to high pressure and shear force. The DH Offloading Walker is an effective, compliant and cost effective solution for treating these plantar ulcers. The Walker combines a short leg walker frame with a patented pressure relief insole to effectively heal plantar ulcers. The insole consists of hundreds of independent hexagonal pieces that work independently and collectively to adjust and react to forces in more than 200 areas under the foot. These pieces can also be easily removed and skived for selective ulcer site offloading. Clinically proven to heal plantar ulcers as well as a total contact cast, this off-the-shelf product dramatically reduces shear forces and manages dangerous peak pressures throughout the weightbearing phases of gait, with an easy to use and technique friendly product.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Treatment of plantar ulcers

Ankle Supports
Form Fit Ankle Brace
The Form Fit Ankle Brace is constructed using our patented Exoform molding technology to create a ?hybrid? between a rigid stirrup support and a soft ankle support. The softgood is made of a breathable mesh aerospacer overmoulded with a semi-rigid plastic exoskeleton. In addition, the softgood aeromesh is highly breathable, increasing comfort and greatly improving the hygiene of the product.
The Form Fit Ankle has multiple applications in both clinical and athletic environments (sprains and strains, post cast, support for weak ankles, sprain prevention, etc.).
INDICATIONS FOR USE

DH Offloading Post-Op Style Shoe
In addition to the DH Offloading Walker we can also offer diabetic patients suffering from or in danger of developing ulcers on the sole of the foot the DH Offloading Post-Op Style Shoe. Designed to fit either the left or right foot, it provides optimal offloading utilising our patented post-op shoe and offloading insole with the hundreds of independent hexagonal pieces.
